Cheers Andy, I have the afn cooler as well. It has been very hot here lately, so hopefully sorting the low speed fan will fix it

So, could be panic over..... When testing the high/low fan last night, i was using the middle pin as the permanent live and the two outers for high and low output to fan. Turns out that is not quite right  Outer is perm live and the next two are high low. Retested and both fan speeds work :D

Got the van up to temperature and checked the temps at the front rad, first stage fan kicked in at 86 deg. This was with leaving a brick on pedal to keep revs up whilst parked up. So first stage does work? on idle front rad stayed around 84 deg without fan kicking in again

Checked temp on coolant pipe in rear, which i think maybe the rubber pipe insulates a bit

measure from this pipe

So this leaves the only option now that the factory gauge now reads a bit higher than it used to? So should get on a refit my TIM gauges to get a better idea.
as you can see from last picture the oil cooler pipework is still fitted even though external cooler removed, so thought i'd pull them out......how much bloody oil was still in them  !!!!
Cheers for all the info people, appreciated. And thanks for the pm of wiring diagrams Andy :ok
