As said before, the best bet is to try and get a full diesel donor van, strip what is needed and sell the rest. If you cant get a 1.9td motor in a van you need to get a car with one in, sell the rest, then sell your Aircooled motor and make some money back.
So best bet
1 Get a diesel van with a good 1.9
or get a diesel van
1 buy a van
2 strip what you need and break/sell rest to recoup some money
3 buy a car with a good 1.9td
4 strip what you need sell/break the rest of the car to recoup some money
5 remove your Aircooled motor
6fit all diesel bits to convert your van
7 sell your Aircooled motor to recoup some money.
8 enjoy your diesel van
As for a garage near you, I have no idea, but the second option would require someone willing to do the breaking/removing all parts etc etc
