I've got rust in a corner of one of my side windows, Inside and out. It's the driver side window behind the drivers seat.

Obviously I've got to take the window out but how do I sort the rust? Once the rust has been knocked off there will be alot of the frame gone so how do you build it back up?
Have a read of the Jambo restoration by Dazco.
Cutting out rust and welding a repair panel is probably what you will have to do if there is a lot of rust.
The panels are thin and will distort with heat so care is need when MIG welding.

We had the same (hence the question). The bodyworkers cut out down to the fold, templated up against the top, and butt welded a new section along the bottom of the window orifice. When they took the window out they found all the metal was untreated and the frame unsealed = water + bare metal > Mr Rusty

This is after the new weld went in and they sprayed it up.

The bodyworkers told me ours took 7 manhours. tack, wait to cool, tack, wait to cool, etc.

Another thing - new seal went back in.
