Use the stainless in the link I posted - that is 32mm.

18mm does seem to be on the small side.

So I take it your allowed to use flexi to bridge the fridge flue to the outside of the van.
I have moved my fridge by about 2 ft was wondering if flexi would mean I didn't have to bore a new hole. :?:

No - stick to the manufacturers flue length limit. (As you were already informed)

260 degrees C Silicon/fibreglass....looks good but I don't think I would use it over proper metal flex.
Quote from the advert: Item Title: Cold Air Feed Induction Pipe

Just use the proper stuff:

That would be as bad as the original stainless - it's not flexible enough.
silicon duct quote from the advert:

APPLICATIONS:

Electronic units cooling -

HOTAIR EXTRACTION IN CERAMIC KILNS

AIRPLANE OR HELICOPTER COCPIT HEATING

VENTILATION & AIR CONDITIONING IN BOATS

AIR CONDUCTION IN AREAS WITH HIH OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES

PROTECTION ON ELECTRIAL CABLES PASSING THROUGH HOT AREAS

SHEATHING OF PIPE WORK TRANSPORTING HOT AIR

Hot air conduction in plastic bag production machinery

Engine exhaust fume extraction

Welding gas aspiration

Cold Air Feed Induction Pipe

Technical characteristics

It works properly at high temperatures

It works properly at medium temperatures

For gas conduction in motors and machinery that work with hot air.

Great flexibility

Yes...like I said it looks good and on the face of it, perfect for the job but I do note a certain reservation is the descriptions, they don't quite commit themselves to saying 'for direct exhaust' or 'manifold' just 'engine exhaust fume extraction' and 'Hot air extraction'.....and whilst I realise this pipe will never come into direct contact with the flame you need to acknowledge the fact that a Butane flame burns at a temperature of 1,970 degrees C with air, over three times hotter than this pipe can safely cope with.
Now unless you have some statistics on butane exhaust gas cooling in relation to manifold length I just wouldn't be taking the risk, however slight that risk might be.
You mention that the metal pipe isn't flexible enough...that seems like a throw away comment as this kind of product has been used for this purpose almost exclusively for several decades. It's rigidity and lack of flexibility might make it more difficult to work but this property does have benefits, the main one is maintaining a minimum angle for flue extraction indicated by most manufacturers....

Going off topic slightly, we used some flexible (silver foil type, metal spiral coiled) hot air extraction pipe on a Chiminea, trying to heat the inside of the Pikey Palace at Christmas but venting the smoke outside. It lasted about 5 minutes before it simply fell apart.

the s/s pipe that was already possessed was not flexible enough for the application hence the search for the more flexible original type (which was found).
This exhaust pipe is not going in a flame (around 18" or so above where you can hold your hand without burning) - the same way as it doesn't on my Webasto heater. Yes, I have used the ducting as stated previously.

Errrrrr.................

'That silicone stuff is tough - I have used it on a 3.2kw Webasto - ideal stuff - I have had it up to 200 degrees C. You only need to clamp it at the exhaust outlet with a jubilee clip.

At what cost though?

Surely there is somewhere where I can get some of the same stuff that has lasted 25+ years at a reasonable cost :idea
