Again, not wanting to really argue with you as I tend to sit on the fence with the horse-racing issue, but, in your justification, you are mixing greenlaners & people breaking the law. Not a fair argument, although one certainly pushed by certain media & pressure groups.

I wouldn't put any of them in a pigeon hole, and describe them as either green laners, or just people breaking the law...IMO, there is a very fine line between to two.

I doubt the wildlife would be too interested as to whether the people ruining their habitat actually had permision of the land owner to be there or not?

Luckily, Nottinghamshire Police are now taking this problem very seriously, and have geared themselves up with appropriate vehicles to persue, catch and prosecute the offenders...Including compounding vehicles that don't have insurance etc.

Believe me Karl, I don't need the opinions of either the media, or pressure groups to see the destrution that is being done to the natural heritage on my doorstep.

Let's just remember, folks - the modern "countryside" is an artificial, industrial landscape altered by man over the centuries for the intensive production of livestock and food. Otherwise this fair isle would be forested from coast to coast, with nothing but muddy tracks connecting the towns, villages and hamlets.
Who, exactly, has irreversably altered what?

People are quick to jump on the "I'm holier than you" bandwagon.

Clearly you don't 'live & let live' - you have issues with people who enjoy driving vehicles off road (issues which you are perfectly entitled to have)

But what on earth has this got to do with an industry where many animals endure terrible injuries or even death purely so humans can gamble?
