Progress at last, well it just seems to have dragged a bit lately but been busy in the booth, self etch done, primer done and panalguard fine done,
Image
Image
sort of seems clean and nice when at this stage,
Image
Image
doing this stage with the doors and moving stuff off, will do everything white inside and out then fit the doors and tape up the over colour and carry this rounnd the insides as well, should be really nice and clean. would normally remove the tailgate etc but not going to keep this one, might go for a van one without glass.
Image
So may get round to the over colour this weekend else it will be finnished on monday.

Forgot my camera and as I was alone nobodys to borrow, anyhow glossed the lot white with the exception of the black panals to rear of side windows,
Thats it for the w'end, Monday morning will rehang the doors so I can get an accurate line for the over colour then remove doors and spray off,so looks like painted done on monday, transporter back to mine and refit, fun? not sure yet
Looks scary new and sort of nice but maybe too good so now Im going to worry about scratching and bumping which will be a first with this one :(

Well made the most of the day, sat in the sun and cleaning up all the widow seals and such ready for refitting.
Image
sort of job that when the vans here I get impatient to refit so this way it ahas a chance of getting cleaned and sorted and luckily just found my notes with the order I removed the interior, i know I made it all but still easy to forget .

Well this is with the white done, well pleased with it, nearly went for all white again,
Image
its dull on the bottom as its already been flatted for the overcolour
Image
Door gaps are spot on which is nice, inside doors are coloured already,
heres a taster of the colour
Image
well its shiny but this shows the shade better
Image
we did the tailgate first as booth not long enough to have it open plus the doors at the front on stands
Image
and as well as showing the colour it shows my bandy legs
Image
The white is VW alpine white, chocky colour is an RA mix, keeping the code to myself :D
paint is DuPont Imron Elite, bake temp is 72'c

Nice job Mick..I think you should call the brown..."Arabica" as in the coffee. Why didn't you paint the hightop to match? :ok

Thanks, that will do for me
Arabica over Alpine White :rofl love it,
well ,done a lot of fibreglass moulding and bodies and have no probs working with the stuff but I dont want the top to be an exact match with the body, theyre too big, ugly and bliddy obviouse so you will never hide it, paint it the same as body and I reckon it would make it seem bigger and look , well sort of overbalanced
wont take more than a couple of hours to bring it up and then wax it
