Buzzer of doom back on! Decided not to investigate. If the engine does go bang then that is it with me and T25's

Stopped at Appledore for a flower display at the local church. More tea and cake. Time to leave for Margate.
Engine not starting. After a bit of fiddling found fuel pump is broken inside. No suction and it rattles.

No LPG in the tank to change over to. So relay on the way.

So more cake and tea on the way. DOP buzzer fixed, by the way. Faulty or loose wiring to oil switch by water pump.

Oh yes. And still waiting recovery. I DO NOT recommend GEM recovery. Absolute shambles.
Fours time they have extended our pick up time!

Unfortunately you're not a pregnant nun stuck at the side of the motorway so your job will keep getting bumped down the list each time a pregnant nun runs out of petrol at the side of the motorway.

Gone are the days where a breakdown didn't mean that your next 8-12 hours were wasted.

Sounds like a mare Stu, shame it wasn’t yesterday as I went on a motorbike run through Appledore from Rye as could’ve thrown a spare fuel pump on the bike if it was a mechanical one.

Finally picked up at 1900hrs by a fella who looks as if he is going to fall asleep at the wheel any moment soon.

We did play the.. one of our three dogs is diabetic (true) and needs his insulin shot by 8pm card.... but it didn't lead to anything.

The mechanical pump is deffo broken, J. It rattles. And thanks. We were in Hastings/ Rye yesterday too. So close. But not to be, mate.

For the record GEM doesn't have its own fleet. They contract out to local firms. And if we had been told the truth from the very start, l could have arranged a mate to pick up a spare fuel pump from my home hours ago.

That's life. Live and learn. Spare pump will be stowed away for next adventure. I'm keeping one beady eye on our somnolent driver.

AA is the only firm with any real fleet, RAC left me stranded for 6hrs on a major cross country route with scant information when My V8 S-type spun a big end, when third party recovery turned up he said they had one mobile unit for the whole of Cumbria and south west Scotland operating on a Saturday and even that was on contracts with other breakdown insurance providers.

At least we were stuck in one of the prettiest villages, called Appledore in Kent. And a beautiful day (now l've slept) it was too.
Pub, cafe and shop all in walking distance.
Will visit again soon.

Best breakdown I had was on the way to a country pub one evening with the wife, clutch cable pulled through the bulkhead just as we aproached the pub and coasted to the car park. Called AA said to come in 3 hrs and had food, and beer whist waiting for our lift home from the Nice AA man..
