Not much help but ,
All I know is ,
It took me ages to find a good second hand one. I tried to get a new or recond unit with no luck. also had no luck finding someone to overhaul mine . But you might find one at Vanfest.

Yes we can do them, you've not looked very hard then, see www.gasure.co.uk.
Problem now is bank holiday then we finish next friday for our annual Brittany fest until the 14th September.
Most details on the website but will cost you around £70.50 for a clean, reseal and spindle machine.

Which it will (grin)
Seriously though (and I think Steve will back me up here), there isn't that much that can go wrong on a carb other than split diaphrams, dirt accumulation and leaks caused by worn throttle spindles, all of which Steve can do. Often people go and buy new ones with no real advantage in doing so.
I've been working on v-dubs for over 25 years and a suspect carb always ran beautifully after a carb kit and new bushes. There will be few if any original carbs around now that don't need rebushing. Unstable idling is usually the symptom and invariably folk turn the idling speed or the mixture up to try and compensate - bit pointless.
