Possible fuel leak?

Post by AlBundy »

I have noticed that there is a slight smell of diesel coming from underneath the van, and can see a very slight drip from beneath, see picture. It's barely noticeable and has probably been there for a while, but wanted to know what is above the leak so I can give the garage a heads up.

The fuel tank and associated pipes were replaced last year so I know it's not corrosion, but possibly a loose connection. Could this be contributing to my other issue of an intermittently flashing oil light?

It's a 1986 1.6 D LHD.

Hmm, I can't imagine how this could contribute to an oil pressure light. Especially as there aren't many electronics down there. I would just check if all the relevant connections are tight, dry it off, and keep checking if it comes back.

Ps I didnt see your original tread about the oil light, did you replace the sensor? Mine went wrong once causing the light to light up below ~2.5k rpm.
