Another thought, could E10 fuel be an issue, maybe worth trying E5 for a bit, I may try this myself if my problem comes back. E D I T-Van still stalling when coming to a stop, seems to clear if I take it for a run up the motorway, also put £20 of super unleaded in it today as last time I fuelled was 01 Feb with E10.

Problem still exists, took it out for a drive today, as soon as i came to stop engine stalls with ignition and oil pressure light on. Starts fine and drives well, but at every stop it stalls, starts ok whilst bumping in gear when moving, but unless I can keep the revs up by using handbrake when coming to a stop the engine stalls, any more pointers please.

Check rpm at idle speed and adjust if necessary. lt might be too low
Replacing accelerator pump on carb solved stalling on my DG camper.
Give the carb an Italian tune up with carb cleaner.

Thanks, just bought some carb cleaner so will give thst a go. GSF guy suggested posdible tming issue and to tweak the Distributor. I think idle speed is ok no rev counter so only telling by ear.

I would go through the same steps already suggested to the original poster. Inlet manifold/ vac pipes etc.
Maybe start a new post.

Thanks, cleaned area around carb and sprayed carb cleaner into it, also replaced vaccum pipe between distributor and back of carb as it did look perished at both ends. Took van for a drive and now no stalling. Hopefully one or both of the things I did worked. Thanks all for feedback.E D I T- I also noticed where the air inlet is bolted to the top of the carb had no washers between the bolts and cover where dirt could get in, so fitted a set of small washers for good measure.

Okay! I have done about 100 miles with no stalling, but the gremlins are now back, it starts better than any vehicle I’ve owned and runs great until I need it to idle, just doesn’t want to know!
So now I’m in the process of rebuilding the carb and have a simple question! The spacer block between the manifold and carb has a gasket each side, should I use a gasket sealer when fitting the gaskets?
I’ve replaced so much to this vehicle now that my wife wants to call it Trigger, those that have ever watched Only Fools and Horses might recall the episode regarding Triggers broom.

Dismantle carb. Clean out crap and water, check and clean jets (idle especially). Re-assemble carb......

Thanks for the info, should I use a gasket sealer when fitting the gaskets either side of the inlet to carb spacer block?

Worth checking the idle cut off valve. If you see my thread, a failing one drove crazy for months!

Thanks for your reply but I know the cut off is working as I can hear it click when switching the ignition on.
