How low is it?

I have recently purchased a Holdsworth Villa which I'm chuffed to bits with.
I have a problem though, the rear springs on the van are completely bound together and the lack of movement creates quite a bumpy and choppy ride.
Looking at the springs they are clearly uprated (as they are bright red).
I want to replace the rear springs but I have no idea how much the van has been lowered by, to me it looks like -60mm but im not sure. Is there anyway of finding out? Ideally I only want to replace the rear ones if possible as funds are a bit low at the mo. I have attached a pic, to me the van looks lowered.
Can anyone help?

Looks similar in stance to my van. I've got -60mm springs fitted.


Bright red springs could be JK ones?

the springs usually have coloured dots on them.these denote the drop.dont know if yours have but its worth having a look.

Ok I have had a look at the springs and there is no visible indication as to how low the ride is.
Is there anyone out there with a standard (not lowered) T25 that can give me a height reading from the floor to top of the wheel arch so I can compare to mine and hopefully work out how low mine is?

my 86 holdworth Hitop is 690mm front and 705mm rear, standard 14 inch steel , hope this helps.

From what you have described they are 'coilbound', are you saying that there is no space between any of the visible coils?

Hi Mike, they are coilbound there is no space between the coils at the rear.

I have just had a measure and my rear is 720mm from the ground and front is 666mm.
So compared to piontes that a rough drop of -30mm at the front and +15mm at the back!
Now im totally confused.

My bus with the standard springs (army spec so maybe a bit different) was,

Front. 745mm
Rear. 718mm

After fitting the supposedly 60mm drop springs it's now,

Front. 662mm
Rear. 677mm

Going by your measurements your front is basically the same as mine, with the rear as mine was before lowering. It doesn't have those 'spring block' things fitted for towing does it? I don't see how the coil could be completely compressed and still give a standard height.

My measurements were taken down the centre of the wheel for reference.

If they are as you say 'coilbound' and the ride height is greater then you have the wrong springs fitted to the rear, had just the same thing with Gixsters,
plents rear springs going f.o.c ok std ride height but in your case that would lower it and make it safe to drive because if you have no suspension travel at the rear you are in trouble.
