Nice to be back

I'll see if I have any photos on the wavy bit for you later
It’s not how it looks, it’s why? Why is it wavey?? What function does that have? And are the two wavey edges fixed to each other, or just hanging around next to each other?
I can’t even look at my other side as it’s far worse...

I looked at my build thread and there's nothing to help beyond where you are. I can't get to mine at the moment, but I might have access today / tomorrow and i'll see if I can figure anything out. I think they butt together

Thanks, that’s very kind of you. I looked back at your thread last night. From all the other threads I’ve read, my memory says that they butt together but aren’t fixed together, which is what I find weird.
Incidentally the suicide door idea came from a metalmickey thread, now long since lost its photos.

Which sadly just goes to show that you have been doing yours even longer than I have
If they do but together, then that would be because a physical seal / barrier is needed, but no strength, and more likely the two anchoring points may move relative to each other in use, so there needs to be some "give" ?? Unless it's just cheaper manufacturing

Is it worth shelling for Tapatalk pro? One off £9.99? Or is the image posting functionality hinted at arriving soon?
Anyway, without photos, the outside edge of my battery tray is toast, as are the inside and outside edges of the “X” panel, but the top of the chassis rail looks mostly ok!!
Looks like I’ll need to rebuild the edge of the rear valance, rear corner behind the first suicide door, front edges of the suicide doors in the seams, lower rear quarter needs replaced.
And a question, what is the function of the wavey edge inside this quarter, between the “X” panel and the wing?
On here?
I made that flat panel with a shrinker stretcher and binned off the wavy edge for a butt joint to eliminate another water trap seam. It’s worth remembering most panels were designed for speed of assembly with a spot welder not longevity.
