only works of you have pulled the barrels off pistons, I try not to.
Ideally you support pistons when pulling pins and the barrel does this nicely.

oh I see,
Try using fine grinding paste with an old barrel, if the sealing surface is good enough then don't worry but if the sealing surface is compromised then its scrap.

Hard for me to see if that is into the sealing surface or not?

E D I T, a close look I think thats scrap

Yup...door stop beckons for this one...but fear not I have another. I do need a valve compressor loan though, I’ve never lapped any valves before.

Don’t know if these numbers in the intake manifold are relevant to HT leads? Anyway, never noticed them before.

Swapped the bell housing over so this generous offer of an ALD gearbox from Wilbur, will do for now and get me going.

Parts Required:

Interested to know how this drives, ALD has a 5.5 final drive ( DG is normally 4.83) as its a diesel box so that means ( As far as I know) that your revs are much lower for a given speed but I guess you can just use a lower gear. Might be interesting to know how it drives on a motorway, revs always seem far too high but perhps its needed.

Yeah. Probably not ideal but it’ll do for now.
