Chassis number?

Post by danmetallic »

Can anyone decipher my chassis number from this (from under the fuse box)? And whether mine is good for this spec:

"T25 from Chassis 24-F-080 001>> Engine codes DF, DG, DH, GW, DJ T4 Engine Fitment Codes and Year Range AAC 2.0 Petrol 09/90-12/95"

Or from this

Thanks again, Dan.

24 is a pickup truck or DoKa, 25 is a van or bus. F year code would be 84 production year, so must refer to all "later" T3's

Does that say AAR behind the wire?
If so, lucky boy, you have a long legged gearbox with factory LSD.

Oh, and to upgrade to a 90a alt you may need to swap the bracket/strap too.

Was looking at it last night and current alternator is 90A. Can you expand on the factory LSD?

Its a ZF unit, 40% max torque distrubution (?) Good news when pulling away on wet grass (gently does it or lay down a fat 11!) but watch it coming off a greasy roundabout if you are pressing on...
The one in the SA gives a little "grumble" at low speed/lots of lock as the clutch pack works.

It does indeed say AAR so I must have it. I wasn't aware they did a factory LSD. Exciting times!

You can try the LSD ;)
Jack up the rear (both sides) then in neutral if you turn one of the wheels the another will be turning the same way. And if somebody helps you and holds one of the wheels, you can hardly turn the other.
