Hammock / cab bunk

Post by maximillion »

Hi, just fitted a Bluebird hammock, the new spring loaded one. Followed the instructions to the letter, drilled 4 holes and that's it - fitted really well. One of the easiest jobs i have had to do on the bus yet.

Then out came the boss, "There's no way Bella (our 2 year old daughter) is sleeping in that, it too high!"
And i must admit, it's only 2 ft from the roof... but bang on the instructions.

...anyone else got one and had any experience with little ones sleeping it them?

Eldest, 10, loves the cab bunk. It is higher than the bunk we had in the last van, but he's dead comfy, and he's not small. Let her play in it a bit first to get used to it, she'll be cool.

It was fine, she slept like a 'baby'!

We did borrow an elastic cargo net from a friend that clipped over the opening to the rear which was a bit of piece of mind, will post a picy when i have downloaded the photos

We used one of the bluebird cab bunks for the first time over the weekend.
Our 2 year old loved it ,except we could hardly sleep at night worrying that he was gonna fall out!! Needless to say , he ended up in bed with us again ..... so we could , at least , get a bit of sleep!
I am trying to thing of the best way to make it safer so i would love to see the picture of your cargo net in place....

Cheers
Shaun
