JX Turbo Cooling Fan
Never heard this running on my Syncro Doka until yesterday. Its noisy and hard not to miss - cut in several times yesterday and today after a less than 1 mile runaround the block from cold I parked up and then a couple of minutes later the turbo fan starts running (engine was switched off) As i recall yesterday it only cut in when the engine was turned off. Was offloading yesterday and van got heavily muddied etc lots of dirty water got everywhere . Do we think these two facts are connected? Turbo still seems to be boosting ok.

Re: JX Turbo Cooling Fan
The way it was explained to me is that it works of the same sender as for the aux water pump, so only comes on with engine off and the coolant is hot enough. So the aux pump should be running at the same time. The only time I ever heard mine was when I burst a pipe on the AAZ, it's LOUD! Have you checked the water levels? A drive around the shouldn't get it anywhere near hot enough
Maybe the sender has shorted?

Re: JX Turbo Cooling Fan
Yes i now realise that the aux pump and turbo fan are connected as .....had a look in behind light at T. fan and the relay is partially disintegrated and i think water / mud has got in there and shorted it. I have removed the relay in pieces , started engine ran for a bit , turned off, now the aux water pump is running continuously? Perhaps the jet wash has forced water somewhere it shouldn't (sender?) where is this? Also any ideas which fuse they run off?
Another job to attend to but am glad this has shown up the defective relate and that looked like it could have caused real issues

Here's a link to the wiring diagram for the aux pump

Might be of some help?

Re: JX Turbo Cooling Fan
Good one - any chance of a diagram of the turbo cooling fan? So I can cross ref with this one . Thinking I'll hook up the aux pump again tomorrow when it's all dried out a bit. I did spay a sh:t load of switch cleaner into the fan relay plug - maybe its shorting and somehow kicking off the aux pump. I pretty sure I unplugged the relay, then started engine to see all ok, started & run fine , turned off. Then nothing. Then aux pump started & wouldn't stop.

Sorry, no. I would have sent it if I had it. That diagram is from andy, so he might have the turbo fan one

Re: JX Turbo Cooling Fan
ok so have replaced the relay but as soon as engine gets warm (not driving just idling) the turbo fan kicks in and after 10mins of the drone (engine off) i finally pulled the relay again to shut it off. faulty with/ sensor? only started happening after some wet off roading. Ideas? not sure that the fan is kicking in because its needed , engine was only at normal running temp or am i missing something?
