Lost one of mine, can't find them anywhere, bought from Sunflower campers before but they are currently out of stock.
Somebody must sell them in stainless steel?

Stainless steel can go rusty if contaminated with steel, it's easy to do, for example if you are grinding steel and some gets on your stainless it rusts quickly then stains the stainless.

Ordinary steel/iron contaminates/seeds Stainless steel causing it to rust...
Is the shortage of Stainless steel hubcaps possibly due to trademark issues?

Misquote from ...Rude Dog and the Dweebs...
Driving around with a hubcap missing is like eating soup with a fork''''
