Reviving tired paint - Is T cut the the best?

The Toads paint is decidedly flat and i'd like to waken it up a bit.

I was going to T cut and then give it a going over with canuba wax that I got from Aldis the other day.

Is this the right approach or are there better products out there?

faricla grade 3 is medium should be available in most motor factors far better than tcut.

Hi Badger, absolutely loads of products out there mate and to get the best results on flat paintwork you would really need to machine polish it with a cutting compound, however, if you're doing it by hand and don't want to spend to much on products, I'd be inclined to clay your vehicle first (once you've washed it) using Bilt Hamber Regular Clay as you can use water as a lubricant - this removes most contaminants from the paintwork that you wouldn't remove with normal washing/polishing/waxing and leaves the surface smooth:

Wash again, dry using a microfibre towel and then use something like Meguiars Ultimate Compound:

You can then seal the paintwork with the wax that you bought (I would wash the vehicle again to remove any remnants of the compound). I'd give it two coats to cover any parts that you may have missed. I currently use Dodo Juice wax products as they're easy to apply and give great results (what colour van do you have)? You could use something like Collinite as it beads really well & lasts for about 6 months, but can be quite an effort to put on.

Here's the van at the mo wearing its tired OG paint. Not wanting to go down the respray route just jet as there's panels to replace but would like to liven up.

Pleasure mate! As always, preparation is the key and I'd recommend anyone to clay their vehicle before giving it a good going over - you'll be amazed by the results. Here's a pic of the clay after i did the boot lid on my merc - believe it or not this was from the space of about a foot square:



If you decide to use this and need any advice just give us a holler.

Love the van and if you want to use a Dodo Juice product I'd go for either Blue Velvet or Purple Haze
