Metal Cooling System Pipe Part Number Identification please

Post by Mickyfin »

I have located the known coolant leak on my 1.9 petrol caravelle Syncro to be the pipe arrowed in the photo below (Not my photo). Its a metal pipe, and rusty with pin holes in, do any of you guys know the part number for this pipe please, and also the connecting rubber hose to the rear of the engine, and related components such as thermostat side? I think I may invest in the ETOC Parts DVD as it will prove very helpful for sure whilst rebuilding my Syncro, even at £300, it has to be worth it no?

If you're looking for something that will last for a while, you might want to get the stainless steel version. Price is not much higher than the 80 pounds being asked for the original part. Guenzl Classic part has them: http://server2.gs-shop.de/200/cgi-bin/s ... terID=4357" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
so does Syncro-Werkstatt: http://www.syncro-werkstatt.de/Kuehlwasserrohre.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Cheers, André

Looks like I have no choice in this instance, our local VW Parts desk just informed me, this part is no longer available. :shock:

Found this pipe on ebay.de, does it look the right one to you guys? The seller has listed it as a "VW BUS T3 MV DJ COOLING WATER PIPE thick flange + bolt"

It looks like the right one to me, but would appreciate your experience please :ok
