I bought this coolant from a well known online VW specialist (sorry I can't work out how to reduce the size of the image ) - I've noticed on the delivery note it states 'G13 equivalent'. It doesn't state G12 or G13 anywhere on the container. It does say it includes the OAT based corrosion inhibitor, so I'm hoping it's fine to use, but I really don't want to screw this up! I'm guessing it's not G13 as it's glycol based? Is it G12, or something else??
I'm not draining the whole system, it's just for top ups (hopefully!). Current coolant is pink so I'm assuming it's all good to mix?
The engine is a 2.1dj - thanks for any advice, much appreciated
Cheers,
James

Personally if you don’t know what is in there, I would be cautious of topping up with any antifreeze .
how much do you need to top up ? To be honest if you are needing to top up more than a odd cup full now and then you must have a issue , and if it is only a cup full now and then and then just use water , it won’t dilute what you have in there to any degree .
Thanks Steve and Ash, in that case I will go with just water. I've just lost a small amount from the system as the seal on the expansion tank cap has failed - new one should be here tomorrow. Other than that no issues.
Cheers,
James

Keep the bottle for when you want to do a drain and coolant change. You may need another bottle though as capacity is around 18ltrs of the top of my head.
