It's also hard to snap the tang off a coil that protrudes inside although the 1.5 did snap off.
Tang snaps off by using pliers and turning it anti clockwise, if the helicoil is through too far it is not supported and often won't snap.
Hard to measure the exact depth also from outside but with the case split easy.
