Re: Sliding Door Cable

Resorted to silver solder and new e-clips. Fingers-crossed it'll last for a few more years.

Sliding Door Cable

Can anyone suggest where I could get a replacement bowden cable for the sliding door. Mine has self destructed, the adjuster has snapped in half at one end and the D-ring is broken off at the other.
Thanks
Dan

Re: will not idle and seems to run on 3 cylinders

Have you checked the points gap? If the gap has started to close it could be the cause of the mis-fire?

Re: Overfilled my oil

Hi, try typing SYPHON PUMP into an ebay search. It should come up with couple of cheap options designed for transfering oil out of drums. You should be able to buy the type like item 250494346997 in a pound shop or auto factor. I haven't tried it but I can't see why you couldn't pump the oil out thr...

Re: Electrics Query..

Hi Tim, below is an extract from the Wiki that helped me check out my wiring :- Disconnect the negative terminal from battery, join (12v bulb and holder from Maplins £1.90) test light between battery and terminal (end of cable), if you have a light showing, it means you have a drain. Remove each fus...

Re: fuel breather pipe specification

If you had genuine VW tube it was probably a nylon or a fuel resistant thermoplastic material, so you should be ok. :?:

Re: Electrical circuit queries.

The two wires in the cupboard. If these are original fitment wires then they may have been for one of the following appliances that were fitted as optional extras on Autohomes models that may have been removed. Hot Water Heater/ Gas Heater. Check to see if you have an additional Flue/vent similar t...

Re: Electrical circuit queries.

I've just read through the "manual" from Autohomes that originally came with the camper:- 4:3:2 When Static When "on site" the control unit charging switch should be switched to "MAINS". This will ensure that any 12 volt current will only be drawn from the secondary bat...

Re: fuel breather pipe specification

Don't be tempted to use a plastic / PVC pipe. Over time the petrol will leach out the elastomers that make pipe flexible and turn it brittle and solid. Have you got any hydraulic hose suppliers near by? Ideally you want a fuel rated hose, ISO 7840 is a marine fuel spec, but any textile braided hose ...

Re: Electrical circuit queries.

I left the leisure battery powering the two tube lights, spot light, and a TV & freeview box this afternoon and after less than two hours there was only enough power to dimly light the spot light. The voltmeter was only reading 3-4 volts after two hours under load so I guess the battery is shot. ...

Re: Electrical circuit queries.

Thanks for the answers. I've got the van parked inside at work this week so I'm going to leave the Zig unit switched to "mains" and 12v-on which should only draw power for the leisure battery, shouldn't it? I'll leave the interior lights on and flatten the leisure battery. If the starter b...

Electrical circuit queries.

I've recently become the owner of a Autohomes Kamper MkII fitted with a Zig CF 8 unit. One of the previous owners had removed the mains hook-up socket and leads, but the 12v circuit seems to work as it should. I've got a couple of questions about the electrical system though. In the cupboard under t...
