Also the weight of my van is lighter. Any ideas what to do.. I'm basically stuck on the driveway.. no way I'm payin...

Re: power steering (Wheel to rack snapped)
That could be loose as well then!
So maybe that's not where the rack is leaking after all.
Ergh.. anyone want to buy a van?

Re: power steering (Wheel to rack snapped)
It's about as descriptive as I can manage!
It's a tube that comes from the wheel, attaches to a thin metal pipe that goes up into the arch and towards the rack.
I've found a garage, but looks like he can't be bothered to mess about fixing it and will just source a replacement unit..

Re: power steering (Wheel to rack snapped)
Anyone else help with this?
Going to book it in a garage and don't really want to take it and pay for their time while they source a part, I like to turn up with the part in hand!

power steering (Wheel to rack snapped)
Hi I'm leaking fluid everywhere... the fuel tank is covered in fluid but I can't see the leak. Think i've traced it to the drivers side wheel. the metal rod that goes from the wheel up into the arch and backdown towards the rack seems loose one side.. and I did hear a horrible snap the other day whe...

I got my loom prepared and some other bits posted from TSR. No problems with them, something got lost in the post and they replaced no qualms.

Re: Wheel Scraping / knocking sound
Hey I thought it sounded cheap, i tried a VW service place in Brixton said he couldn't do it. the main dealer was the only people i could find. Does anyone know a good garage in South London Elephant area? When i took it into quick fit the guy said he wouldn't want to recommend any garages round here!

I've got the replacement bearings from brickwerks but they are saying 2 and a half hours labour, because they have to do something with the driveshaft? £300+ !!

I think it's the bearing.. it only happens when you turn left and it's coming from the rear right...

Wheel Scraping / knocking sound
Hey I think the rear brake or bearing has something wrong, it's knocking (in time with the wheel spinning) There is no noise when the van doesn't move. Today it started happening then i touched the brake and it stopped, but that's not happening all the time. Can anyone recommend a garage, SE London....
