Thanks for that - by the looks of it that will give a reasonable tune at home.

Re: loud clicking/ticking when ignition switched on(fuel pump?)
I have the same noise - i'll probably end up replacing the pump soon with a facet of some sort and regulator.

Re: 2.0cu ignition timing - not enough adv adjustmentavailable?
Problem solved: I bought a timing scale from brickwerks and fitted. The mark someone had put on the engine was way out. I checked what i had been running the last few days and it was 0 degrees with everything connected, so 5 degrees advanced. It pulled very well up hills in 3rd and 4th - hopefully i...

Re: 2.0cu ignition timing - not enough adv adjustmentavailable?
Well i've driven it today after getting it as advances as it would allow and then setting the carbs a little at 900rpm. The van is completely different, loads of torque and much smoother. A good start!

Re: 2.0cu ignition timing - not enough adv adjustmentavailable?

Re: 2.0cu ignition timing - not enough adv adjustmentavailable?
I am using what appears to be the original setup however has the idle stabiliser removed and wires joined, I'm not sure what you mean when you say you hope not? That video should help me make some new timing marks, thank you. However I fear they will line up with the other people's and it will still...

2.0cu ignition timing - not enough adv adjustmentavailable?
2.0cu ignition timing help request! I've just attempted timing my van - somebody in the past has removed the timing scale however they have marked the engine with a tdc mark and also the pulley. I've checked against pictures and they look as accurate as is possible to tell in that manner. With the e...

How hard should raising a pop top be?
My back is being a so'n'so this evening and it's made me think about raising our pop top... How difficult should it be? (early Devon side elevation). Are the struts meant to assist the moment you initiate a lift? At the moment my technique is inside pushing upwards with my back and then arms once it...

Devon 1982 lights/pump wiring (only working engine on)
My newly acquired 1982 devon has the original fittings in it by the looks of things. The 12v/gas fridge and water pump plus some lights in the roof. The lights and water pump are working right on 12v, however only when the engine is running (i haven't had a long enough run to test if the fridge is o...

Re: Leisure battery
Cheers, think i've sussed it now. I've bought a 5m strip of 'warm white' LEDs to run along both sides of the van - hopefully they won't look too ridiculous and be bright enough. Apparently they're rated at only 24W so i figure something like an 88ah will do the job. I know i've got an old leisure ba...

Re: 2lt Aircooled stuttering uphill / under load
Have you checked your airfilter? Mine was spluttery up hills... A disgusting airfilter was partly to blame. After taking it out its MUCH smoother.

Re: 2.0 CU Aircooled lost power, help!
Mine's got an electric pump fitted - i should probably fit a regulator and see if it makes a difference
