Re: Big mirrors Q
Cheers for the help. read the links, thats a fair bit of surgery  I'll try and find an easier way. I'm thinking of testing a blind spot stick on mirror. If that don't work i'll make a small bracket to hold it where I want... I've got a right mismatched set of mirrors then. I've got a LHD Offsid...

Big mirrors Q
Hi all, Back on line after moving house. I managed to trace an offside big leccy mirror for my Holdsworth Vision from the bay. I've been trawling for over a year now for the right side one to match my left.. Anyways, £70 latter I have a small prob. My offside mirrors for a LHD van. My vans RHD so th...

Re: Vactan. Is it really good?
Unless you have no choice, grinding back cutting out and replacing the metal is the only way to really stop it. Anything else is just halting progress. Which yes is OK so long as it's not under a tidy paint job in an obvious place. You knows it makes sense (sorry a bit of Gavin and stacy there - tim...

Re: Tyres for 16" Porsche wheels?
Yeah your right I think on the profile. The 225/50 16's look pretty good in terms of radius next to my stock steelies.
I'd rather gear it the other way - I'm running the 2.1 WBX Auto box, it has the legs already (but no lungs past 80!

Re: carb jetting - who knows their stuff?
Agree with all thats said. Find someone that really understands carbs (not many left now) and pay the money. I spent ages trying to get a twin choke weber carb working on a golf driver last year. After weeks of fiddling with emulsion tubes and jets finally found a setting that worked throughout the ...

Re: leisure battery query
Don't bother with the de-sulphating chargers. Been there on my motorbikes, In my experience if you can't trickle charge it back to life give up and buy another one. They work to a point but only partially recover the things. It's not worth the risk of getting stranded IMO (cos it will let go in a fo...

Re: Is it my battery at fault???
Sounds like the alternator to me - should have more volts (approx 13-14Volts) when the engines running.
The batteries not getting a good charge by the look of it.
Put the headlights on and see if they go brighter when you rev the engine, if they don't then the alternators prob at fault.

Re: Tyres for 16" Porsche wheels?
Cheers guys.. it's a minefield but from what I've found the closest I can get to the rears is 215/55 -16's - Hankook RA14's 98 Load rating.
Or Pirelli P6's in this size.
The fronts are easier loads of makes in 205/55 -16
Looking at camskill next...

Tyres for 16" Porsche wheels?
Hi all. I've just picked up a set of porsche D90's 6 inch wide fronts 8 inch backs. I've got them all ready to bolt on the van with the adaptors etc.. Dilema time now though - should I risk the ZR car tyres...? They are almost new P6000's load rating 630KG @ 51 psi. My vans a high top Holdsworth vis...

Re: Back Seat Belts in a Holdsworth Vision?
I've got a Vision also with a pair of lapbelts in the rear... However - during my rebuild I noticed that these rear seats are only screwed down to the ply floor with some self tappers  the one seat is on a pair of rails which is only held in position by a small shed type latch  so three ...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Weldore - did you crack that crazy paving prob....? I painted my van last Aug. The one side took two coats really well. I had one side (of the van) that reacted really badly to the paint. I couldn't explain why as the prep and materials used were the same on both sides. Just got a really bad orange ...

I'm no expert on T25's but I would suspect and swap the carb out. That seems the most likely thing to me. I had a pierburg on a mk2 golf driver last year. When it was working it was fab when it was playing up argh  . I picked up a cheap Weber on ebay and instantly got much more power and be...

Righty then... I've managed to get an hour to look at these tappets. I followed what was said. On my noisy side of the engine where the tappets sound bad. I had one cylinder where after 1/2 turn from no resistance you could feel the pressure on the pre-load screw building up. On my cylinder that sou...
