Any recommended T25 mobile mechanics in Oxfordshire?
Hi All, I'm in Abingdon and really stuck with my T25, happy to do the dirty work but wondering if there are any mobile mechanics who could come over and help diagnose / give advice on where to look, as the van starts, but bogs down under load, and so can't be driven to a shop, and I'm totally out of...

Did the gearbox have oil in ? Did you change it ? Did you do any work on the engine at all; especially fuel lines, air filter and spark plugs ? and is the accelerator cable free and operating over full travel ? Hi Aidan, I put new oil in when I got the box, and just double checked, its filled unti...

Starts and idles great but bogs down on the road getting worse as it warms up...
My beloved 1.9petrol gearbox ate itself, I replaced with a 'reconditioned i promise' facebook special and a new clutch whilst i was under there. Now it starts and idles great, and will take throttle on the drive. As soon as I get out on the road it starts to bog down more and more, and I have the f...

Do we have to keep saying it?

Thanks

Re: 1.9DG starts but wont move forwards, only reverse.
Thanks to all saying linkage, I did try that first, it definitely goes into first - and was doing this before swapping the box! (the old box third gear exploded - bit of gear everywhere, took the box apart to have a look). Will upload some pics, but it definitely feels like it goes into gear. Did th...

1.9DG starts but wont move forwards, only reverse.
I have owned this 1.9DG for many years and its always been very reliable. With the change to E10 it started to backfire and run badly so I changed out the fuel lines and rebuilt the pierburg carb with new gaskets to stop it leaking, and found the old ones had long since dissolved! I put it back toge...

Pierburg 2E3 carb fast idle cam spring?
Having some trouble getting my 1.9 petrol with the pierburg carb to cold start. I think the problem is that the fast idle cam (which I think is the metal piece to the right of the right hand spring in the picture) isn't getting pulled back. It seems that the spring should do that, but the spring see...

1.9 suddenly leaking oil
I own an 86 1.9 petrol manual, it has been in storage for 10 years but I recently got it back on the road. It's all been going great until i noticed it had started leaking just a little oil, i opened the engine bay and found it down the side of the engine underneath the starter, some on the pipe bet...

Repair Trailing arm possible?
So typical, both trailing arms have got quite a bit of rust on the outside bushing area. I presume there are not supposed to be holes on the inside. Any recommendations on repairing these? I'm a self taught welder, OK on bodywork and basic joins but Is a repair even possible? Or should I get it done...

Re: alloy wheels and speedo sender
O.K. cool, I spoke to a few garages and they said the alloys are fine as long as the tires can take the weight, and since they are 14s I can re-use the tyres from my steel wheels. I have attached a picture of the speedo connector, I can't see how it will fit other than drilling it into the centre co...

Re: alloy wheels and speedo sender
They are from a golf gti mk3, they are 5x100pcd using 5x112 to 5x100 adapter plates rather than just long bolts. I'm not sure about the centre bore, but they do fit, the only problem is they don't fit with the large black grease cover on, and since this is where the speedo clips onto with a circlip ...

alloy wheels and speedo sender
I just bought some allow wheels and fitted them to my t25 but to fit them i had to remove the grease cover, on the drivers side this is fine but on the front passanger this is where the speedo cable fits! Does anyone have any good ideas of how to sort this out? I dont really want to drill through th...
