Just gone for a run and the noise has quietened down...but I know in the morn it will be there again.

Engine flush....yeh, just afew.. Will I ever get rid of this problem, even with new lifters fitted. I have only had this problem from around 80,000 miles, until then all was well. The engine is at 92,000.

No I didnt, I was under the assumption that when the engine pressure was up they would bleed themselves.

Well, Haynes style first, 2 turns but since read from Boston Bob taht that was too much so now got them set to 1/2 turn.

Yes I was thinking of it, just taken the df engine out to do tappets but after all that, they still rattle after being left or short journeys,

Was thinking of a scooby...Myself and me and the outlaw, hes a old time mechanic...

Is it difficult.

What sort of cash is required for this fit, included buying the lump, ECU etc,

I have just fitted laminate in my 64 split and found that B&Q sell alsorts of plastic and metal angle trims...

Hi all, Have had the dreaded noisy at startup. Took anegine out renewed hydraulic tappets and stripped heads, tubes etc.. All back in now and guess what.....still there if run on short journeys.. If taken for a run will clear the noise. Could it be oil pump? or blocked oil ways that feed tappets or ...
