Re: Water in oil sump.

It is unlikely any sane person is bothered by this childish outburst. My advice is to ignore such behaviour, as trolls thrive on others' anger, frustration and annoyance. ...

We are here to help likeminded people and forum users' like GavVW.

Re: Water in oil sump.

Your engine may need stripping down to check for internal damage on cases, cam and crankshaft before any proper decisions or suggestions can be passed. For now l suggest you drain sump and see what the contents is like. Then remove all spark plugs and gently turn over engine clockwise using a spann...

Re: High temp 1.9 dg

I've only gone and fixed it, filled with water and bled using baxters method, it was ticking over on the drive for 40 mins before the fan kicked in. Long test drive some in heavy traffic. The needle stayed 3 or 4mm to the left of the warning light at all times. Chuffed. Drain down tomorrow and fill...

Re: Cooling system - overheating

I will say I had some new adjusters from either brickwerks or heritage as I thought it would make sense to do with a rebuild. After a month or so I had the loud tapping, so thought adjustement was needed. Opened up the cover and two of them did this.. although not as bad. They don't seem to be very...

Re: Drive Belt treatment

I would consider checking freeplay in waterpump or alternator pulley's first. Could be a bearing on the way out.

Re: Timing For E5 And E10 Petrol DJ2.1 Engine Query

My 2.1 sits around 2% stu. That was with a quick fiddle with the o2 screw at the mot station. I think I'll swap to a FI system at some point, maybe Marco's if I get some burnable dosh in or speedshops kit perhaps. But with Marco's hes offering a turbo setup ;) Did it stay at that setting thereafter...

Re: Timing For E5 And E10 Petrol DJ2.1 Engine Query

If any one is putting E10 in a vehicle with a carburetor they should be aware that E10 contains more oxygen molecules than E5 meaning the engine will run leaner (hotter) unless it has been adjusted to suit, I fitted a A/F ratio meter so I can adjust the carbs to run best on what ever I chose to fil...

Automatic Drive Shaft Seal Replacement

Is it the same replacement procedure as manual seals?
Also, the plastic plate. Are they the same for auto and manual. I can't find any listed for the automatic.

Warning. It may be scarely loud!

That's what l recommended, Rob.. :ok
