How to Rebuild a Carb - for an Idiot

:D I may be thinking of trying to do something that is way beyond my capability, being a pencil pushing numpty that has pretty basic knowledge of mechanics.

But would rebuilding a carb best be suited to a professional or could I order a kit and have a go :ok

How about something like this

http://www.first4magnets.com/pot-clampi ... pull-p6589" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

has 64KG pull, so I might have cars being attracted to my rear end everywhere I go

Re: Wont tick over

Wow Em

Sounds like a great idea, what kind of magnet, any links to what would work best, how do i get to the bottom of the tank, where is best to place the magnet?

Although thinking about it, why would it run ok when you keep the throttle on?

Re: Wont tick over

Tried the new coil, no difference, so it must be carb problems, problem is being a numpty of limited experience and tools, I've come to the end of my resources, how do I squirt an air line into the carbs, when I don't have an air line :?

Re: Wont tick over

I'm going to try borrowing or seeing if I can get hold of a spare Ignition coil, see if its the coil breaking down, would this make a difference, does the coil take more load under tickover than normal running speed?

Re: Wont tick over

Right there is fuel coming through the carb as you look down the choke flap, little squirt from there as you pump the throttle whilst engine off..

There is a spark coming from the ignition coil

Then removed the spade connector to test the idle shut off valve and it clicks fine

WHAT NEXT?
