Thanks for the replies, just been out and bought some engine flush,new filter and oil, I don't really know what I'm looking for regarding spark plug colour so any advice would be gratefull,am I right in assuming this will indicate which piston I have a problem with if it is a rings fault?

cheers steve, tried to hook it out yesterday but seemed solid so havepoured a bit of oil in over night to try and loosen it off will try your idea tomorow as looks like the weather's put pay to any work outside today!

Snapped fuel pump pedistal
Nightmare - removed my fuel pump today to replace it and when removing the pedistal the thing snapped leaving the long thin section that guides the rod stuck in the engine block, anyone else had this sh**ty luck in the past and anyone who has any idea's on how to remove it they would be gratefully r...
