Re: Drive away awning
I bought one from Decathlon (who knew!). It was cheap, Inflatable - so fast to put up and down. Works well with my hightop (I bought some big suction cups to help attach it to the side quickly). https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/J7L2Waza4F1fI6utvKUmgqAIgml4JETpwaIUM5kbwmLsclRiAyjPtoUIn7yw1Ve8cSUgIIz...

Re: Persistent rocker cover oil leak
If it's a bad fix, but it works, is it a bad fix?
As you say, not ideal - and keep an eye on it, but it saves the driveway.

Re: 1.9 DG Issues
When everything was swapped did the carb get a clean? Specifically the little filter which is in the inlet of the carb - there is a small sock filter that you have to get out with a wood screw or similar. have seen similar stories where everything was changed, but gunk in the sock meant problems per...

Re: 1988 T25 gear selection tricky (advice needed)
You can get a whole linkage refresh kit from various retailers. Has everything from the selector cup to the UJs - you could buy one of those and fire the parts cannon at it - or (as above!) have a good old look and see what's wobbly. Could, of course, still be a setup issue. Search Gear Linkage Repa...

Re: Changing the high pressure oil switch
Well, took her for a decent drive, got it up to temp and ran around for a while and no BOD - so I assume I have enough oil pressure to keep the 1.9bar white switch happy. I have ordered a grey 0.9 anyway but will probably keep it in the spares bin unless I start getting issues with the buzzer going...

Re: Changing the high pressure oil switch
Went in this afternoon - in from the top, water pump pulley off and got the sensor out with relative ease using the shortened 24mm tap wrench that I had made for the occasion (another single use tool for the arsenal!). Took me about 30 mins end to end, but with the learnings I could do it again in 1...

Re: Smelly engine
Maybe take it to the carwash and clean the engine/engine bay with the pressure washer? See if having a spanking clean engine helps the smell at all?
Could be something died in there a long time ago and is gooped up / sticky.

Re: Crank shaft (rear) leak.
Thank you cheddies. You might have just solved my problem. I was too ashamed to mention that it is still dripping . Thought that I had done something wrong. Have replaced pulley and after reading your post I checked the pulley I removed and it is the same as yours - dry. I will order oil pressure s...

Fingers crossed for no more oil drips (for now!)

Re: Crank shaft (rear) leak.
Resurrecting this thread - sorry about that. I have the same symptoms (oil dripping down, pools in the recesses) but it looks to be more on the left than the right, so I am hoping it is actually coming through the high oil pressure switch (which, as pointed out sits below and to the left of the main...

Changing the high pressure oil switch
Hey all. Long time lurker, first time question-ner (most of the hundreds of questions I have had have been covered by the wiki/searching!). 1985 1.9DG petrol, 190k on the clock. Komet conversion, based in West London. I have had a small but persistent oil leak the last few weeks, and have tracked it...
