Hi Robsea
Doing is probably the best way to learn and you (and others on the forum) have benefited from the hands-on approach.

Re: Side lights staying on
Hi Robsea I do very much appreciate the remarkably comprehensive feedback that you have provided. There is a range of wiring-related advice for me to consider over the coming weeks. I would also think that this and your earlier messages would be useful for other van owners. Thanks again Best Wishes ...

Re: Side lights staying on
What a helpful group. Thanks especially to Cobblers, Cecil, and Robsea for providing aspects of the problem for me to follow-up. Given the van is now 32 years old I am thinking that a full re-wire might be due as old cabling will probably continue to provide problems from time to time now. I wonder ...

Re: Side lights staying on
Thanks Robsea
That's helpful follow-up info.
I have recharged the battery, removed instrument dash, and fiddled with the light switch two day ago and so far so good.
But I suspect this has been only a temporary 'fix.,
This issue involve both sides.
Thanks both

Re: Side lights staying on
Wow! Thanks all for range of observations/advice. I am thinking that Robsey makes some interesting suggestions, especially re. the rear junction box, that are worth following up. It is a 1990 van. But I do very much appreciate all your suggestions and will think about these over the next few days. B...

Re: Side lights staying on
Hi Both
Thanks for responses.
It is just the sidelight section of both rear lights (so one 'lens' each side). And definitely on.... this was initially brought to my attention by a neighbour when it was dark.

Hi Cecil
Thanks for response.
The issue only seems to involve the sidelights.

Side lights staying on
Hi all I have a rather puzzling issue. My rear sidelights stay on all the time even when the switch on the dashboard is off. When it is on both the front and rear lights are on, but when I turn the switch to the off position only the front lights go off. Obviously having the rear lights permanently...
