Re: First Post - New owner, need help with belts
Bit late now your van has been sold but in case you decide to re-join the club: As has been said there are plenty of threads and posts on this already so just a quick overview. You won't find 'crash tested' seats for T25s like you would for a T5 or T6 but I was told by a RnR seat manufacturer (who a...

Re: Coolant Type for Subaru EJ20 Engine Conversion
Thanks. Worth knowing about the green multiplug connectors. Wondered what they were about! The flashing light maybe be because I don't have a wire connected to the header tank so that solves that issue. It's certainly not because the coolant is low. I've replaced the thermostat and topped up the c...

Re: Coolant Type for Subaru EJ20 Engine Conversion
You dont need to change the coolant type just use the same colour to top up .If the conversion was done correctly the subaru electrics should be compatible for the vw temperature gauge. Was the conversion done using RJES parts, show us a photo of the engine bay. https://imgur.com/a/a4kbWuj https://...

Re: Coolant Type for Subaru EJ20 Engine Conversion
Thanks. Once I've figured out the over-heating issue (if indeed it is overheating) I'll think about replacing the coolant with the right blue stuff. For now I'll not worry too much about it. I'm aware the temp gauge isn't objective but it was creeping up well beyond the 2/3rds or even 3/4 mark. A...

Coolant Type for Subaru EJ20 Engine Conversion
Another week and another new problem to deal with. I've not had this T25 campervan for long and barely driven it anywhere due to an ongoing issue with the gear linkage. I've managed to fix it to a point where I could at least get it MOT'd (which it thankfully passed) but in driving to & from th...

Re: Welding on a gearbox
Update. So on second viewing I noticed not only was there a handy bolt but it was also right next to the problematic bolt hole/lugs - amazing what you don't see if you're not looking for something. So I cut and drilled a metal plate to bridge between the two bolts - easy peasy. I've not extensively...

Re: Welding on a gearbox
Good ideas. I don't currently have a tap & die set to form new holes for the holding bolts but might need to get one.

Re: Welding on a gearbox
Is there a bolt somewhere to the right of the hole that you could run a bracket/plate from? Bracket doesn't need to be that thick as it's just to stop the bolt slipping sideways and hold it in position when you tighten it and with a decent washer on the back broken lug it should still provide the s...

https://imgur.com/a/trjLp5u https://i.imgur.com/S8HersY.jpeg The image isn't great but you might be able to see the bolt hole that should a O but is now a C (although from this side it's the mirror image of a C ). This is just to the right of the bolt and washer you can see in the centre. The pr...

Re: Welding on a gearbox
I've resurrected an old thread here. The original post is from 2018 so guessing he sorted it. I just have a similar issue.
For me that would not work as I need something to stop the bolt slipping out when I tighten it. There is nothing there to get good purchase.

Re: Welding on a gearbox
JB is good if used correctly. Look at JB weld-ing a stud in place of your missing bolthole ? Thanks, that's reassuring. Yeah I was going to apply it around the bolt and washers so they end up being fixed in place. Currently I can get them in the right position with the gear linkage plate but after ...

Re: Welding on a gearbox
I have a similar issue on my T25. One of the bolt holes on the gearbox has sheared off and it's causing gearshifting to be extremely difficult (and impossible to get in reverse). Trying to find an aluminium welder able/willing to fix it is proving elusive and it's been suggested I may need to remove...

Re: T25 Kamper - return after 8 years - rear seats and belts
I take 3 kids in the back of our VW T25. One on a rear facing multivan seat. I bought a three-point seatbelt kit from Gowesty in the USA (it was the only kit I could find specifically designed for this seat - I'd put a link but the website is being weird). The bottom fixing points are the same a...
