Maybe, I'll have a look today and see if the gearbox is on a rubber mount. I thought it wasn't as it says to remove the bolts from the transmission.

Thanks.

VW T25 2 Litre CU Engine Removal Questions...

Hello, I'm removing the engine, in the Haynes manual it states: "23 - Undo the nut and remove the long bolt securing the transmission bracket to the rubber mounting." They do not provide a photo for this step, I cannot find said bolt, bracket or any rubber mountings, can you explain where ...

Re: What is this covering around the engine bay cover??

I might just remove a small amount around the edges to see if the rust spreads under... seams a shame to remove it all... but if I have to what is a suitable product to replace it with?

Cheers

What is this covering around the engine bay cover??

Some has lifted at the side with surface rust but most looks ok... but I would rather remove it all and clean and paint underneath... but will I be able to replace it? Looks like it is moulded to the ribs pressed in the steel? M...

Re: Choke Mechanism Details Please, after brazing repairs!

I think you sent me that one picture 3 times there! Anyway the important one I think is the one that is closed as it shows where it is on the Stepped cam, Many thanks for the Effort, I've been searching high and low online, I only found one other picture and somebody had altered it to below that top...

Re: Choke Mechanism Details Please, after brazing repairs!

The left carb has had a whole stem brazed on (by a previous repairer), so I'm not sure it is in the right place, I think I might have to bend it to correct position...

Re: What should go between thermal block under Carburettor?

Ok thanks, I'll use the 2 in the picture. I can make the one that is slighlty bigger fit. So the heat won't affect the gasket under the thermal block?

Re: What should go between thermal block under Carburettor?

Ah ok, it is confusing because there is an icon labeled image but only asks for a URL! The last picture shows that one of the gaskets could be made to fit if there is meant to be one under the thermal block? https://i.imgur.com/8wmIf9x.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hxkmH0y.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Kcv3Llk....

Re: What should go between thermal block under Carburettor?

Sorry I've added it now, it is:

Sheffield, England.

VW T25, 1980, CU Engine, Air Cooled.

How do I add pictures? Is there a way or I have to upload to a sharing website, it asks for a URL but surly then they expire and then there will be no pictures on this forum after a few months!

Cheers
