Re: wbx twin thermostat puzzle

I know this is an old post, but did this get resolved, I have two thermostat housings and not surprisingly some cooling issues, which I think I have nearly worked out.

Just interested..

Re: Red light of doom

So.... afrer more thinking and staring, I decided to go for the thermostat, took it out, jammed it open (don't ask) ran it for a while and some progress. After a 10 mile run the temp gauge goes up to about a 1/3 over and stays rock solid, not ideal I know, but progress. I took it out and put it in a...

Re: Red light of doom

Thanks for all your pointers.

Can anyone recommend a garage near me in Cambs/Beds area to get it looked at by someone who knows watercooled T25's?

Thanks

Re: Red light of doom

No, definitely not my diagram, apart from the red and blue circles.

I'm half way between Cambridge and St Neots.

Who do you suggest to get it resolved?

Re: Red light of doom

I did red and blue dots on that diagram to explain it better (maybe)

I can't think that both radiators would be blocked, so probably has to be air?

I think I'll go for the whole bleeding bit next weekend.

I think I might need to rewire the cooling fan too.

Re: Red light of doom

There are no daft questions. The heater fan works, and pumps air out, but not hot air. The other fan is a manual switch for engine cooling and radiator goes cold, when testing, not that it gets really that hot like the engine. (I'm guessing someone has wired in a manual switch as the radiator thermo...

Re: Red light of doom

Hi,

It wasn't overheating, although the gauge was on the hot side.

Yes, red light flashes when starting, then goes out.

The fan has been changed to a manual two speed switch on the dash.

One tank is full the other half way between min and max.

Red light of doom

After getting the van running on all 4, she has now lured me into fixing that "red flashing light" (It's a T25 1.9 petrol watercooled with carb) I'll try and give you the whole story; Originally it went into the garage (yes, the same one that said it had dropped a valve - but it ha...

Re: T25 only running on 3

Nither, the nut came off holding the rocker shaft down, fortunatley it was just sitting in the bottom, if it was a vertical engine it would have been a disaster.

Re: T25 only running on 3

I found the problem, can you see it ?

:-)

Hopefully it hasn't trashed the rockershaft bearing as it not been run for long.

Re: T25 only running on 3

Thanks Kev,

Yes, tested, and swapped the plugs, and leads, , kept the same on the disti.

Am I right in assuming the brake booster vacuum hose is the one going into the manifold on the left?

Thanks

Re: T25 only running on 3

Thanks for that,

I already know which one is not running as the exhaust is cold.

Its the passenger side at the back.

Thanks

T25 only running on 3

Hi, I'm after a few pointers on getting it running on all 4 :-) It's a 1.9 watercooled petrol. I've been rebuilding British bikes for 30+ years so know the basics, but will admit to being a pleb when it comes to 4 wheels. I have checked the usual plugs leads etc, and done a compression test with all...
