I know this is an old post, but did this get resolved, I have two thermostat housings and not surprisingly some cooling issues, which I think I have nearly worked out.

So.... afrer more thinking and staring, I decided to go for the thermostat, took it out, jammed it open (don't ask) ran it for a while and some progress. I can't think that both radiators would be blocked, so probably has to be air?

There are no daft questions. The heater fan works, and pumps air out, but not hot air. The other fan is a manual switch for engine cooling and radiator goes cold, when testing, not that it gets really that hot like the engine. (I'm guessing someone has wired in a manual switch as the radiator thermo...

It wasn't overheating, although the gauge was on the hot side.

Yes, red light flashes when starting, then goes out.

The fan has been changed to a manual two speed switch on the dash.

One tank is full the other half way between min and max.

Nither, the nut came off holding the rocker shaft down, fortunatley it was just sitting in the bottom, if it was a vertical engine it would have been a disaster.

I found the problem, can you see it ?



Hopefully it hasn't trashed the rockershaft bearing as it not been run for long.

Yes, tested, and swapped the plugs, and leads, , kept the same on the disti.

Am I right in assuming the brake booster vacuum hose is the one going into the manifold on the left?
