Re: Fumes
I doubt the missing bellows would cause your issue. The heater fan will be 'stealing' the cool air drawn in by the engine cooling fan, but before its been through the hot/smelly side. A light exhaust or oil leak inside the heat exchanger casing might cause your problem, but a heavier leak would be...

Re: Fumes
Thanks, going to check for oil leaks when with the mechanic and it's up in the air but I reckon I've found the problem. It's missing the rubber bellows between blower fan on the alternator and the air intake on the bodywork. Can only find one UK company selling them and 2-3 weeks wait time. It co...

I've just had a 1200 mile trip in my T25 (2.00 air cooled, 1983). Drove superbly and didn't miss a beat and no oil leaks/loss. Engine rebuilt last year and compression was bang on 160 on all four cylinders. Once back home my voice was quite hoarse and I realised it had been like it during the tri...

Carb refurbishing/rebuilding
Hi, can anyone recommend someone or a company that refurbishes/rebuilds Solex carbs? They're off a 1983 2.00 air cooled and are the original carbs. Solex 32-34 PDSIT-2 and Solex 32-34 PDSIT-3..........for those who know I probs didn't need to state that. When they were on I was told the spindles ...

Re: Sliding door not locking from outside
With the outside door handle removed, can you lock and unlock the door with your finger, by pushing the lock ring left and right? Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk Hi, yes, just been out trying again. I think it's possibly a combination of worn rear catch and not quite the right adjustment on th...

Sliding door not locking from outside
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this. 1983 T25 RHD sliding door lock won't lock by key from the outside and when I lock it on the inside I can still open it from outside. I've taken out the entire mechanism, de-greased/cleaned it. greased it all back again. All parts move smoothly as...

Setting up hydraulic lifters CU engine
Hi, apologies if this has been asked before, I've had a quick look and can't find anything. Just some work done on the engine 2.00l CU air cooled. New hydraulic lifters are in and I've been asked if I can find out how tight they should be set up. Haynes manual says just until the rods are touching b...

Re: Carb not drawing in air
Hi Guys, thanks all for your knowledge, helpful suggestions and feedback.....I'm learning. I'm going to be getting the van back next week. It runs on petrol so is useable and I've got it booked for bodywork repairs early in the new year and want to see how it is driving around for a while and will...

Re: Carb not drawing in air
Maybe check for vaccum leaks on that side of the engine? But I would say there is something not right with the LPG setup as they ran on petrol, but again I'd be out of ideas at that point as I know nothing about LPG systems. Thanks for your help, it's definitely not the LPG though because there rea...
