In other half's splittie with similar sounding problem there was a wiring issue, where things expanded when warm and a dodgy wiring connection became more tenuous. Can't be more specific but might be worth thinking about if the other suggestions don't find the cause.

Just seen a welder (the machine, not the person!) in Aldi today. £49.99. No idea whether it's a pile of junk or not, but might be useful for someone.

Significant Other had a full width r&r bed in his splittie, and it was just like bed at home, but he only had a fridge and a small cupboard so much less storage. Daughter's t25 had a 3/4 bed and it was "snug" to say the least, but room for a cooker and sink. Depends on your priorities....

'Scuse my iggerance, but is it fairly straightforward to do this retumblering thing, and what are wafers?
