Re: AAZ Coversion To Do List
Yes timing belt will get done while its out. Which I crank bolt is better is it just a case of checking the torque? I'm going to have to replace the sump gasket/baffle as it was bonded on to the sump and I had to destroy it to get the sump off. I'll look at Brickwerks and have a look at replacing th...

Trumatic E 1800 Heater
Hi I've got a Trumatic E1800 installed in our Westfalia. I think it was a later add on rather than a factory install. Its fitted in the bottom of the wardrobe under a false floor. I've had it running and heating ok but it currently has no flue attached! So I haven't run it for long! Has any one else...

Re: AAZ Cold start system.
Will check later. When I bought the van the seller showed me a pull switch that he said affected the radiator and caused the engine to warm quicker.
So I guess that could acutually be the cold start on the pump? I've never needed to use it. So I've just left it alone.

Hi I've just picked up a Golf MK3 with an AAZ engine in it. My plan is to run the car around my yard (no mot) get it starting and running right before I strip the engine out for the conversion. I may well rebuild it before it goes in the van. My van currently has a 1.6d so it should be a pretty stra...

Re: 1.6 Diesel Water Pump Belt Change.
The lazer tool looks like it would do the trick! But I would need to modify it as I've got two socket cap bolts and one standard bolt on the pulley!

1.6 Diesel Water Pump Belt Change.
Hi, I've just bought a T25 1.6 Diesel and one of the first jobs I need to do is change the water pump belt. I understand I need to split the pulley then use the shims to tension the belt. But whats the best way to lock the pulley to get the bolts undone? Is it best to work through the hole behind th...
