Re: 2nd break down.... halls unit?

Cheers for input, decided that m going with the Beru amplifier & hall sender from brickwerks. Leaning towards the hall unit but as the rest of ignition system will be new for the extra cost replacing amplifier and putting mine to spares kit makes sense. While other males are cheaper, it’s the usual....

Re: 2nd break down.... halls unit?

Brickworks is the obvious choice if I have to replace Halls unit but a quick look round shows several amplifiers, ignoring the non branded.....

Beru - £41
Hella - £29
febi - £13

Beru is what brickwerks stock so know they will be ok, but thought Hella & Febi are/were reputable also?

2nd break down.... halls unit?

Just got home from our second break down with the van, both locally and appeared easily solved....... hmmmm Background - had the odd cut out coming to a roundabout/junction but seemed no real pattern, suspected fuel as tank had been dropped recently. Leads/cap/rota arm/plugs are all relatively new, ...

Completely agree, just suggesting if it said book time was 3hrs for example it would give a base to work from. As everyone has said with complexity of age etc then with allowance for this could easily add an extra hour a side.

Re: Brake discs and pads labour costs

Could see if something like autodata? Lists the book time for changing, allow a bit extra for problems etc.

If it’s significantly less than the 5hrs he is quoting you could politely ask what problems he encountered for the job to take X amount of time over the expected.

Re: Saab 9-3 Electric Seat Wiring

Before you start going through all the wiring I'd do a test fit first. My cloth seats are from a 900, even with the t25 runners removed it was going to be a tight fit with the standard steering wheel. I removed the height adjustment mechanism and repositioned the saab runners so they would bolt to t...

Which Weber carb was fitted?

While not crucial the jetting the 34dat comes with for the t25 is not great and can be tweaked. But shouldn’t affect starting unless idle has been messed up badly

Would seem a lot of expense and effort? Thought about 17”? I was looking at steels for a Mercedes GLA which would have a suitable centre bore & offset. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-Gla-X156-Steel-Rims-17-Inch-Winter-Wheels-Continental/362976205862?hash=item5483115c26:g:eogAAOSw9lteGGf1 h...

Re: lights

question 2 do i go for the 3000k warm lights or 6000k bright lights?  Kelvin scale is not to do with brightness but is the colour temperature. 3000k is very similar to a traditional filament bulb, 6000k is much cooler/blue light. For reference a daylight bulb tends to be around 4-4500k. Blue end ...

Re: New engine running too rich

Don't get hung up on the colour of the plugs. Really to use the coour of plugs as a good indicator the van needs to be up and running at speed, once up to temp cut the engine mid drive, then you have a better idea. As others have said the colour at the moment is going to be black as still on choke/i...
