Re: Crank pulley bolts lost...
Update: Bolts not lost. They were broken. The ones I ordered were the right ones. So, after a nice Saturday under the van, surrounded by tools and soaked in oil, everything is sorted. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170313/1d24d655b9e7f78565f97aa37113c4d1.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2017...

Re: Crank pulley bolts lost...
I noticed that there's only one position. My problem now is: which one are the original ones? On http://www.oemepc.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I could identify the part numbers N 90348701 and N 90348704 (they look exactly the same, btw). I found the N 90348701 on htt...

It loses power and boils
Just for the records, I had the engine replaced at the end. I'm using now a 1.9D (non-turbo) from a VW Polo. Hutch did a good service at a fair price. It basically gives me the same power as the old JX 1.6TD and it's more economical. Starts easier when cold as well. And also I have my van back on st...

Re: It loses power and boils
It probably has no thermostat because the temperature hardly goes over the white mark on the gauge. It just started to happen recently, to the temperature gauge goes over the white mark. And the radiator is hot.

It loses power and boils
1989 1.6TD It's driving me mad for days. I bleed the radiator, top up the coolant doing 2000rpm and close. It goes ok for 10 miles, then when the temperature is almost at the middle, there's a clear lack of power, and if you don't stop in 5 minutes it will boil. I'm trying to avoid the pain, but loo...

To swap or not to swap...
I actually replaced recently the feed pipe that provides oil to the turbo. The old one broke and started to leak. Maybe it is my turbo...
However, thinking about it, I'll spend £500 more or less to replace the turbo. How much would cost an engine conversion?

To swap or not to swap...
Hi everyone, I have a 1989 JX 1.6TD which is smoking a lot. I basically need to add a litre of oil for each fuel tank. Despite it drives nicely and keeps 60mph on the motorway, the smoke is a problem. So, what to do? Fix it or swap engines? I've read about people swapping to VW Golf 1.9TD engines, b...
