Re: Snapped Cylinder Head Stud - HELP!
Sorry, totally forgot to put in the engine type. It's a 1.9 DG and here's a picture of the problem and I've highlighted the Part and the bit in the Haynes manual [img http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r518/hortonrayner/Mobile%20Uploads/20180418_203037.jpg [/img] [img http://i1169.photobucket.com/a...

Re: Snapped Cylinder Head Stud - HELP!
Just the width of the flat part on the end of the pipe section. I'm guessing about 5mm or so

Snapped Cylinder Head Stud - HELP!
I've been fitting some gaskets in out if the water pump up to the cylinder head. When I came to tighten the bolts on the cylinder head side, one of the pressed studs has snapped off. Does anybody have any idea on where to go from here, I've had a bit of advice from a friend and it's not such a simpl...

Re: T25 DG no spark
stretchie - did the struggle to start include slow turn initially - as if the engine was tight..or the timing was out?? It was always turning over fine. It's just now twigged that it has been struggling to get a spark for a while. Only time I got a slow turn was when I was trying to get it to start...

Re: T25 DG no spark
Final update!! Replaced the distributor tonight and set the timing. Started up first time without even really trying. Considering what it used to start up like I'm guessing that the dizzy was on its way out for a while. Thanks for the input on this thread guys. Much appreciated, I'm just over the mo...

Re: T25 DG no spark
20170305_135643.jpg Using the above set up and putting the ignition on, I grounded the pulse going into the distributor. For the first time, I've got a spark!! From the instructions I was following it points to a faulty hall sender unit. I'm plumping for the entire dizzy module as there's mods that...

Re: T25 DG no spark
I had a similar problem/ took weeks to sort out. the fault was tracked back from the black box in engine bay to fuse box. the feed wire to black box had no power, and was found to be melted where it connected in fuse boc. once we rewired away she went/ been ok since the aa spent 4 hours on it and g...

Re: T25 DG no spark
Just thought I'd post a picture of the 3 pin connector block that's attached to the dizzy for people to cast their eye over

Re: T25 DG no spark
Stupid question time!! That 3 pin connector block doesn't look great and really could be an issue with some of the power getting into the dizzy. However we have tried cranking the engine with the dizzy cap off to check that the rotar arm was turning. Is it the power from the 3 pin lead that powers t...

Re: T25 DG no spark
Another update to the saga! We've checked the output from the (new) king lead and there's no spark there either. Double checked my voltage going into the coil and it's at about 11.5v. As previously mentioned, I've replaced this too just in case. I've checked the 3 pin plug next to the dizzy. The con...

Re: T25 DG no spark
Just checked again given the input so far. King lead actually measured 1kohm and ht lead at 6kohm. I put them in the wrong way round earlier. Happy that the meter is giving the right results and reading short when it should. The battery is starting to tick over with less enthusiasm now as it's been ...

Re: T25 DG no spark
Thanks for the replies so far.
What voltage should I be getting on the input to the coil?
Found a post on Brickwerks that says the king lead should measure 2k ohms. So I've gone for a new set of leads and we'll see where we go from there.

T25 DG no spark
I started to develop an issue with the engine intermittently cutting out towards the back end of last season and it seemed to be related to the ignition circuit. Faulty spade connectors was the AA diagnosis but eventually the van made it to the garage (on the back only an AA truck!). Diagnosis from ...
