Re: Coil

That's really useful.  I won't be doing any of this but will pass it on to auto electrician.

Coil

I've had intermittent issues with ignition, which was traced to the coil connections.  The connectors have been cleaned and tightened but the issue has returned.  Turn the ignition and there's a click but engine doesn't turn.  3 or four attempts and it turns and the problem goes away for a while.  I...

Interior light - galley

Hi Shortly after I bought my van, around 11 years ago, my galley light (over the cooker) died.  I replaced it with something that looked like the original and I've never been happy with it.  Anyways, that light also died a few weeks ago and so I need to replace it?  Can anyone advise where I can sou...

Re: Fridge gas igniter

I’m assuming your van is a Westy… on our Club Joker the fuse is located in a small black plastic box, about the size of a matchbox, that’s screwed onto the forward facing end of the kitchen unit just below the level of the seat belt reel. There should be a 25A fuse for the heating and a 16A fuse fo...

Fridge gas igniter

My fridge gas igniter isn't working.  I've dug up a couple of posts on here and the fuse seems to be on the drivers side seatbelt post but I can't find it.  Can anyone help me locate where the fuse is so that I can check it?  Thanks

coolant steel pipe corroded

I've got a corroded bottom water coolant steel pipe that's leaking slightly.  Can someone identify the pipe from the photos and tell me what I need and where I can get it from?  Thanks!

Re: Engine stalling

Intermittent electrical connection on ignition side? Check all connections and earths around ignition, low voltage and HT side. Fuel blockage?  Check/change filter if not done recently. Check vacuum hoses around carb for leaks/splits? Yes, there is an intermittent fault when starting.  Has been for...

Engine stalling

Engine needed to be turned 2 or 3 times as the van has been stood for a few days.  Once it started it sounded fine.  However, half a mile down the road the van stalled at traffic lights and would not start again despite several attempts.  Managed to get a push down the hill but wouldn't jump start s...

Re: Starter issues

The obvious thoughts are - Ignition switch is often a prime suspect, Followed by ensuring that your wires and connectors to the starter are clean and securely fitted. Then there is obviously ensuring that the gearbox to body earth wire / braid is also clean and securely fitted. Thanks!  Will get th...
