Best Steering Wheel with Saab Seats
So I have trial fitted my saab seat although I still have the middle vw runner to remove which will drop approx 10mm off the height. Noticed I will also need a gearstick extension as it is a bit far to reach now and my shoulder is bad enough from years of weight training without making it worse by o...

Re: Saab 9-3 Electric Seat Wiring
Hi Ash Dont need to go through the wiring as red to positive and black to negative on my power pack and seats work fine, although I will for the heated seat. I measured from the bottom of the rail to the top of the seat base on my VW vs the saab seat and as far as I can see with the vw seat rails re...

Re: Saab 9-3 Electric Seat Wiring
Hi carrera So you were right. They are out of a saab 900. Manufactured in 1993. So here are some photos underneath and of the memory unit https://i.imgur.com/trtl71n.jpg https://i.imgur.com/w0k1KY4.jpg I hooked it up to a 12v supply and everything worked. Both seats have there own memeory unit so do...

Re: Saab 9-3 Electric Seat Wiring
Thanks Carrera. So when you say you suspect its just a matter of getting live and earth, do you mean that in terms of just getting the seat adjustment to work rather than all the memory settings? In terms of a relay, that would be used by the switch to operate the motor circuit right due to the high...

Re: Saab 9-3 Electric Seat Wiring
Hello Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately dont know which car it came from as the guy who sold me them got them included with his T25 (not fitted) which he has now sold. I am not fussed about getting the memory settings working, just want to be able to adjust the seats and maybe get the heating elem...

Re: What lurks beneath
You may be lucky then because behind the trim panel where the sliding door rail is welded, mine had started to become 'crunchy' rust

Different Seats
Hello I know that lots of peeps have swapped for new seats so can you share pics for inspiration please? My original seats have been covered by my mother in law and look good, however the foam is past its best and not comfortable. I am happy making modifications but if it means cutting the seat box ...

You saw the condition of mine in My T25 restoration thread. Behind the actual sliding rail will be knackered.

Re: Saab Front Seats
I have just measured where you did hubcap with my original vw seats in and its 19-20cm so a bit concerned about your 14-15cm measurement. As we are both 16 stone yet you are 5 inches taller than me I am wondering if I may have issues with getting my thighs underneath as I am no 'skinny jeans' type b...

Re: Manual Steering Rack Clunk
When I am under the van and an assistant turns the steering half a turn left and right I can feel a clonk coming from the rack. As its a rack and pinion I am thinking one of the teeth of the pinion wheel is damaged. Anyone ever disassembled one of these to look?

Re: Saab Front Seats
So hubcap you can no longer slide the seats forwards or backwards? I like those seats however I want my wife to be able to drive our van but lack of seat adjustment would be a problem in that I am 6'1 and she is 5'1
