Re: Air Intake Boot......Newbie

Mine is the same as the picture you have posed Colin. The boot tends to perish and the tube frays and comes off. I've taken mine out and coated the boot in silicon rubber. I'll simply buy a new one sometime but wanted to have a play. It's probably all about ensuring it's all secure as the vibration ...

Re: Water leaks above tailgate

Useful thread thanks all.
I've just dug the sealant out of my westie high top today. Treated it, hammerite on top and was going to leave it clear but now i'm going to pop the sealer in it.

Re: Grinding from back wheel

Right so that 1/4 inch movement may well need to be even tighter.
Seemed to take up the slack though.
I'll know more when i road test it.

AEF if that means anything.
I'll ask the question in a few weeks when it goes in for MOT and get this working properly.

Re: Grinding from back wheel

Had the time and a nice day to get this lot looked at. After wrestling with the wheel nuts and getting the drum off i found about 6mm of play when moving the hub back and forth. I took the split pin out and gave the nut a 1/4 inch slight move to take up the slack and popped the pin back in. This wil...

Re: Grinding from back wheel

Intermittent grind that changes pitch and gets faster as i drive faster. Sounds painful when driving slower. Come to think of it i recall it easing off a bit as i turned to the left but i'll have to confirm that.

Grinding from back wheel

Wheel seems to be grinding. More noticeable at slow crawling speed. Often quite when i dip the clutch and coast.
Any ideas please?

Temperature guage

Forgive my inexperience . I've had a complete engine rebuild (after some kind garage overfilled it) and since having it returned the temp guage needle hardly moves. At best it might just reach the reading scale itself. Driving home yesterday, after around 100 or so miles, it was getting hot going up...

Two problems...........Chap who owned it before has had a go at fitting a central locking kit. Drivers door doesn't open on the key so i have to climb through the back or passenger ...
