Re: Advice and Reccomendations please? Fixing dodgy work!
Ed/ Sarah have given up on their new engine getting fitted. They’re going to review the situation and maybe even sell the van as it is. They’ve become disillusioned with the whole sorry episode! David.
What happened? It sounds terrible. I ended up remortgaging the house to fix mine 😅

Re: Advice and Reccomendations please? Fixing dodgy work!

Hi Roger,

I’ve had a closer look now and it does seem as though I put a bit too much trust in him. To do it right.

Thanks

Paul

Re: Advice and Reccomendations please? Fixing dodgy work!

Hi Dbz,

That was straight back from the blaster. I’m pretty sure he replaced all 4 of the wheel arch panels. I’m really hoping for some filler work and I may even do the rustoleum paint myself. It just stings that I saved the money to get it done right and I may as well have had a go myself.

Re: Advice and Reccomendations please? Fixing dodgy work!

I didn’t even realise that was the wrong thing to do, but now you’ve pointed it out it makes totally sense. No wonder my seams come and go, there isn’t a seam now! 🤦‍♂️

Re: Advice and Reccomendations please? Fixing dodgy work!

Thanks David I'll give them a look! I was born and raised in Troutbeck, we will have definately crossed paths at soe point I would've imagined! Hi Roger, it is heartbreaking, to be fair to Des he didn't share these pics, most of these are mine, to highlight the issues to be rectified. If I'd have be...

Advice and Reccomendations please? Fixing dodgy work!

Hi Everyone! Spoiler, I'm after bodywork specialists relatively near to Cumbria who are open to fixing some shoddy work. https://i.imgur.com/sZRoCTq.jpg Heres the story. I , like most of us here I imagine, fell in love with the VW campervan fairly early in life. My first vehicle was a Citroen Dispat...

Re: Custom CAD interior project

Excellent. What materials did you use and who supplied them? Adrian from LeisureMax supplied the ply. It's a lightweight ply, I believe its 12mm and then with the laminate applied it brings it to 15mm finished. It is really strong for its weight, not as strong as a birch ply but waaaaaay lighter. I...

Re: Fitting an F45 on a Side elevating Devon Pop-Top

I don't suppose you have any pictures of the catch you moved do you Dave?

dave friday wrote: 21 May 2020, 17:53 Hi,I moved the front pop top catch to over the passenger door..but I'm still munching about with the pop top/ awning as the pop top catches the awning ( and pulls the seal off!)
Good luck.

Re: Fitting an F45 on a Side elevating Devon Pop-Top

Did you find a solution for this? We are trying to do the same I think the solution is going to be to have some brackets made that bolt into the roof above the gutter, follow the profile of the gutter then vertically straight up to house the awning. I'm thinking of making a plastic sheet to go alon...

Re: Fitting an F45 on a Side elevating Devon Pop-Top

I haven't finished it yet but I am working on it. Im putting a strengthening structure internal to the roof that will allow a roof rack eventually and should hold the hinges so the stress if removed from the fibreglass and i'm hoping this will open up some opportunities to have an internal locking m...

Fitting an F45 on a Side elevating Devon Pop-Top

Hi, I’ve had a look in the forum and I can’t find anything regarding this. I have a side elevating roof on a Devon and I want to fit a Fiamma F45. However it seems that the mounting brackets for the fiamma mount on the same thin strip between the sliding door and the passengers door that the roof la...

Re: PorPatch from Por15 instead of Tiger Seal

I was thinking about after cutting out the rust / replacing panels. Like you know after we remove the rust and then we run a bead of tiger seal along the seam before painting, I wondered if this PorPatch stuff would be better due to its enhanced rust prevention qualities?
