I definitely need to strip it down me thinks. Appears I've killed it.
Any links to how it comes fully to bits? I've got as far as popping the wire ring out, but it was left in place at that as it seemed stuck.

Re: Inlet Manifold Gasket - 2.1 MV Carb.
I'm sure it was fused on the feed to relay with a 15a fuse. That fed the carb heater as well as the inlet, all on the same fuse. I took the cover plate off the heater when cleaning up the manifold, so I'm now worried I've damaged something in there and caused a short. To test, I've put the feed wire...

Re: Inlet Manifold Gasket - 2.1 MV Carb.
Cheers mocki, that's great news. Might be coming off again away. The heater plate draws about 20 amps, so I'm not quite sure that can be right! Gonna test it through the relay in the next few days, see if that's any different. I don't see why it would be though. Starting to think I've disturbed the ...

Inlet Manifold Gasket - 2.1 MV Carb.
Hi all I've come a bit undone on gaskets again. The gasket kit that has come with the new engine, has 2 of each of the following gaskets with it. The one on top of the picture is much thicker that the lower one, but both match up to the inlet manifold in shape. A quick google shows the top one as p...

Dipstick is held by a clip to this tiny bracket.
I'm not 100% the early DG's had the cross brace - ref. '12A', but I'm sure someone here will know.
I have the bracket, just couldn't remember how it went on.

Re: Alternator differences.
I'll give that a go. Not sure how well it will go with no key on the pulley, but there's 2 chances.

Re: Alternator differences.
Can’t get my head around your photo, but I’ll post this anyway for reference. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210217/bdf5479e656fa6de2a161d6fe4b0df1d.jpg That photo is really handy actually, I couldn't decide if there should be a nut between the alternator bracket and dip stick tube. Obviously n...

Re: Alternator differences.
Update time. Thanks for all the help guys. So, pulley off both old and new. I think I can space the old one correctly using a few from spacers from each. The old pulley has no key though, so I won't be messing around with that. I guess it didn't slip on the old one, don't see why it would on this on...

Re: Alternator differences.
That's just what I was thinking. Swap the pulley over; provided that fits, reshape the bracket.
I'm wait for Brickwerks in case there's something wrong, then give it a go tonight.

Re: Alternator differences.
Just had a quick look on brickwerks again, they list the flat bracket for both 45 & 65 amp, then a different one for 90. The 90 is not only kinked, it's got the teeth on it for the "geared" bolt.
Now I'm really confused!

Re: Alternator differences.
The box it came in had the right label on it. I'll double check that tonight. Looking at the brickwerks pictures, both their 65a alternators, early and late look like my new one, but as you said, could just be a random pic. I guess I need to see if the pulley will swap over tonight. If it does, I ca...

Re: Alternator differences.
Hi guys. The bar is dead straight. If the lump of metal wasn't there, it'd be perfect alignment, as the old alternator was. I presumed the pulley would swap over, but didn't want to get the spanners on it in case it needed returning. I guess I could modify the bar, but just thought I must have misse...
