Re: Hello, new member engine help please.

thanks again for the advice. My van's an '84, would an 85> engine fit or would I need to change stuff around? I'm new to t25's but I understand they made a lot of changes for the '85 model year. :D

Re: Hello, new member engine help please.

The thrust washer is still on the dizzy drive, the gears on the crank are ok, there's a couple of tiny chips on the cam gear, but it looks like it must have been chattering around a bit once it broke off, so maybe that happened then. More serious, just been having a look over the engine more closely...

Re: Hello, new member engine help please.

I would guess that someone has been in there before and fitted a cam with the wrong size wheel (sizes from -5 to +5 are used to correct the production variations in crank/cam centres) With no clearance it has overloaded the front bearing and the repeated stress cycling has resulted in a fatigue fai...

Hello, new member engine help please.

Hello, I've just bought my first T25, it's got a 1.9 dg waterboxer and I think is an Autohomes conversion. I got it from the local scrappy and the engine was partly stripped and sitting in the cargo area. It's not as bad as it looks. The only bit of welding it needs is the O/S outer sill and a bit u...
