Re: Noisy tappets
Having looked on Youtube at T25 engines running, some of 'em do sound a right racket! Our van is driving well and is sprightly enough if you put your foot down. Could be my usual van neuroses and paranoia……where any squeak, knock, bang or dodgy smell signalling some imminent disaster! The joys….the j...

Noisy tappets
Hi all. Had a replacement 1.9DG engine from The Engine Shop via Cool Air website fitted last year (and lovely Stainless steel exhaust system from VW Speedshop). The mechanic (Audi/VW specialist) did a great job. 500 miles running it in and it bedded down lovely with no issues. Over the last few mont...

Re: Calliper confusion?
Thanks for all the advice. Have decided on the sensible….replacing BOTH front callipers and fitting new brake hoses AND taking it to another garage.

Re: Back from the garage and still confused
Thanks for response. I did post this in mechanical as well, but had no answers there. The situation is just really really odd and baffling. The garage tell me the problem calliper is nearside left…..but you can actually see smoke (and get a burning smell) coming from the offside right. The garage ha...

Back from the garage and still confused
I posted a calliper topic a couple of days ago but had no response. This is just an update and i'm still after some kind of explanation or answer from anyone on here. Have just returned from the garage (again) with my offside right calliper smoking like hell (with fierce burning smell) and it's obvi...

Re: Fan button pin
Hi lloydy. When i would lose the button, i can remember being able to get a small set of pliers inside the chamber and adjust the three fan settings by turning the pin. I'm assuming that the button sat on that pin. Looks like pin is missing, so i can't adjust manually.

Re: Fan button pin
P.S Am able to purchase a fan button from VW Heritage, but am concerned that the button has nothing to "sit on" when i push it into place and will just turn freely without adjusting the blower.

Fan button pin
Hi all. Am i right in thinking the fan button sits on a small metal pin? In the distant past i remember using a set of small pliers to control the fan heater when i would occasionally lose the button! The trouble i think i have right now is …..having just had heater matrix replaced etc…looks like th...

Exhaust code?
I need to price up a stainless steel exhaust for the van. VW Speed shop come in at £460, which is cheaper than Just Kampers. I have a local tyre and exhaust specialist that maybe able to build me an exhaust if i can give them details of the petrol DG exhaust needed. is there a code or something i co...
