Re: Engine ticking over lumpy and white smoke
Thanks Elvis but we haven't got a connection to plug in the VAG-COM. Not that hi-tec, I'm afraid! We have had the pump checked over and it is working fine, so the expert said it could be the Banjo bolts (supply and return) are in the wrong place, the four fuel lines are connected in the wrong order ...

Engine ticking over lumpy and white smoke
Hi guys We recently noticed a small fuel leak coming from the diesel pump (Passat engine 1.9Td, probably 1996/7) so took it off to get it fixed by an expert. We put it back on, the same way it came off, but now the engine is jumping around when ticking over and white smoke is spewing out (which we u...

Re: Where can we buy perspex side windows for a T25 hi-top?
Sorry for the delay,
We think the conversion was from a small company that is not around any more, called Country Kampers (we have an invoice in the paperwork we inherited).
Thanks

Re: Where can we buy perspex side windows for a T25 hi-top?
Thanks for the replies, guys.
Some great suggestions that we hadn't thought of.
Will definitely go for polycarbonate instead of perspex, and will check out the two different suppliers suggested.
That's put our minds at rest now we know it is possible.
Spray job here we come!
Thanks
Tracy and Andy

Thanks for the reply.
The windows are the plastic/perspex (i.e not glass) type, set into the roof sides. They are single-glazed, and slightly concave, but we are fine with replacing them for flat/flush ones.
Do they supply and cut this type material?
Thanks
Tracy and Andy

Where can we buy perspex side windows for a T25 hi-top?
Hello everyone. We need to buy two new (or good quality second-hand) side windows for our 1990 T25 hi-top, but we do not know anyone that sells them! Does anyone have any ideas, or know of a supplier in or around the London area? Or will we need to get them custom made? We have done on-line searches...

Re: top end speed of our 1.9 D 1Y campervan enquiry
Just an update on our overheating situation. We went to get a puncture repaired and the guy there told us we had the wrong size tyres stretched over our rims, reducing the grip to the road. We bought four proper sized tyres and the van drives so much better (glad it wasn't a sales scam!!!). We also ...

Re: Fitting an RM123 3-way fridge - HELP!
Just a belated thank you to all the replies. A friend of ours, with more knowledge of electronics than us, read and used all the advice everyone had posted, and together we followed the diagrams to work out how to wire in the fridge in with the relay. Because of all your kind hope we had a perfectly...

Re: Fitting an RM123 3-way fridge - HELP!
It does have an electronic ignitor, right? Some of those fridges had a piezo ignitor that you just push with your finger. There should be a switch (red?) on the front panel if you have the electronic ignitor? Thanks everyone...... Yes it does have an electric ignition, not the piezo. The wires we c...

Re: Fitting an RM123 3-way fridge - HELP!
The fridge has/requires two separate 12V supplies. Thanks again for your information. We have looked at the link, and now understand how the relay works, in theory! You said there are 2 separate 12V supplies , but we can only find one set of wires (one brown, the other blue), which we took to be a ...

Re: Fitting an RM123 3-way fridge - HELP!
Thank you so much for your advice. Seems we have completely done it the wrong way (we inherited a small 2 way fridge with the van, that connected to the cigarette lighter socket, and just guessed we could do the same for the RM123. As they say, assume makes an ass of u and me!!!). Neither of us are ...

Re: Fitting an RM123 3-way fridge - HELP!
Thanks for the reply. Do you know how we should wire it up to the cigarette lighter to run it whilst driving, but not over-heat and melt the plug? It didn't power the ignition for the gas, either, which it is supposed to. Any ideas where we are going wrong there? We're getting a bit frustrated!!! Th...

Fitting an RM123 3-way fridge - HELP!
Hi, We recently bought a second-hand RM123 fridge, and are trying to fit it into our van. The 240V came with a fully fitted plug (so that is ready for hook-up), but the gas and 12V weren't. I have attached a gas hose from the base, to the bottle, but we have to fit the 12V car lighter plug to create...

Re: top end speed of our 1.9 D 1Y campervan enquiry
Tracy & Andy[/quote] Hi, we think its to do with the gear ratios, ours runs at 50-55 like yours but there's loads more left under the right foot, it just sounds like it'll blow up if we push it any further. I thought of changing to bigger wheels to see if that would help but I'm not sure it'll g...

Re: top end speed of our 1.9 D 1Y campervan enquiry
Hi, We also have a problem with our top speed - drives comfortably at 50-55mph, can push 60mph but gets hot after a while, especially going up hill. When I bring the revs down (don't have a rev counter to check the rpm though) the temperature comes down too. We have a 1990 T25 with a 1.9 Turbo Diese...
