Re: Gear shift bushes
The kit I brought was off eBay , but I would recommend you jack your vehicle up and take a look at the bushes because the kit I got, supplied two different bushes one of which is no use to me. I will be ordering the right bush for the centre bush, but the old one that's on isn't too bad. Then I woul...

Re: Gear shift bushes
Yes deffo!! Big difference , pleased I did it. My plan is to get a half decent camper my family can enjoy without reliability issues....or at least reduce the chances haha. Bit by bit plus the bonus is I'm enjoying the tinkering

Re: Gear shift bushes
Still no idea what the solid nylon bush is for ,used the best of the two used bushes for the middle and the new one for the rear. Changed the starter motor bush whilst the rear end was in the air . Bit by bit I'm getting somewhere

Gear shift bushes
Firstly I apologise for putting up a question without looking through wiki. Van on ramps, rear gear shift rod in the garage cleaned and ready for new bush. The trouble is I brought a kit and it came with the knuckle which fits onto the gear box (fitted) I've replaced the middle bush next to petrol t...

Re: Radiator Thermo switch
Cheers Martin I might just go for it at that price. Looking at my rad it looks pretty decent, but that means nothing to what's going on inside.California Dreamin wrote:German EIS radiators cost £72.36 with FREE POST ...USE discount code CP10LESS at the checkout.

Re: Radiator Thermo switch
My van doesn't loose water normally and I've been up and down the hills at buxton a couple of times. But I've always kept my eye on the gauge knocking the chicken switch in and out. I'm I right in saying if there was a problem with something which pressured the system then it would happen at any tem...

Re: Radiator Thermo switch
Cheers stove, I'll give that a whirl and hopefully I won't need a new rad! I bet they are pricey? Did your radiator fan kick in when your temp went up?

Re: Radiator Thermo switch
Well there is no point in having a stat only to warm the water up quicker initially. You learn something new everyday. I like the diagram, I've saved it for future reference.

Re: Radiator Thermo switch
I'm not 100% but I thought if you get a thermostat that's stuck open you won't get the heat in the cab because the water is not getting heated sufficiently by the engine because it is constantly being cooled? Like I've said the van runs lovely without the fan in normal conditions flat road and not s...

Re: Radiator Thermo switch
I haven't had a new thermostat ? I've fitted a new thermo switch on the radiator and the van is dropping water because I think it's getting too hot because fan isn't kicking in, only once and only max five secs , gauge just past three quarters! The van doesn't use water in normal driving conditions a...
